American Water Services, Inc. was originally formed in 1994 under the name of Water Management Consultants to own and operate water systems. Larry Freeman, the founder, identified the need for managing public water systems, at the urging of Mr. J. W. Northcutt. Mr. Northcutt had been managing the community water system in his subdivision for many years. He recognized the potential problems that could arise in everyday water treatment and the importance of proper testing procedures. He also knew first-hand the importance of having the equipment and manpower to make any needed repair even in the middle of the night or holidays. He saw that Freeman Electrical & Pump Service, Inc. (American Water\u2019s sister company, also founded by Larry Freeman) had exactly what was needed to get the job done quickly and effectively. After servicing his subdivision and many like his, it was obvious that there was a real need for this type of water service company, hence Mr. Freeman established Water Management Consultants. The name was changed to American Water Services, Inc. in 1999.<\/p>\n
Today American Water Services owns over 125 waters systems throughout North Georgia.\u00a0 We are currently covering Banks, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Union, and White Counties servicing well pump, well tanks, water filtration, water line excavation and. more.\u00a0 In addition we operate over 40 water systems for various subdivisions, campgrounds, and restaurants.\u00a0 We also have a state certified microbiology water lab that provides water testing for anything from private homes to county and city water departments.\u00a0 Freeman Electrical and Pump Service which is now operating under the name American Water Specialties is still handling all the repairs and maintenance.\u00a0 In February 2020 both companies moved into a new 24,000 square foot facility which allowed us to streamline operations, maintain more parts and equipment, and provide better customer service.\u00a0 American Water has all the resources needed to take a water system from the conceptual design phase, to installation and then operation and maintenance.\u00a0 As we continue to grow our focus will always be to maintain water systems that provide reliable quality water.<\/p>\n
